International Students are welcome to apply for the University of Giessen Doctoral Scholarship 2023. The scholarship provides for PhD-level studies in any subject taught at the University of Giessen. The scholarship deadline is not given.

Giessen University, often known as Justus Liebig University Giessen, is a significant public research university in Giessen, Hesse, Germany. It is named for its most renowned faculty member, Justus von Liebig, the developer of artificial fertilizer and the father of modern agricultural chemistry. Each year, the GCSC awards up to six scholarships and up to twenty extra memberships. The scholarships are originally provided for one year, with two one-year extensions available. The monthly scholarship is €1,468.00, and parents receive a child allowance.

Scholarship Advantages:

All doctorate students must enroll at Justus Liebig University; there are no tuition costs at the University of Giessen, simply a semester fee of roughly €300.00 each semester. Furthermore, scholarship recipients and members are expected to live in Gießen or the neighboring area as their primary residence.

Eligibility Criteria:

The GCSC especially encourages submissions from students who:

graduated with honors from two-year research-track master’s programs in the humanities or social sciences, and proposed a research proposal of exceptional academic quality that adds significantly to one or more of our study fields.
