Scholarship Description:

International Students are welcome to apply for the Lund University Global Scholarship 2023. The scholarship enables Bachelor’s and Master’s level programs in any subject taught at Lund University. The scholarship deadline is February 15, 2023. The Lund University Global Scholarship is a scholarship program for overseas students given by Lund University in Sweden. The scholarship is intended to assist and encourage bright students from all around the world to study at Lund University. The scholarship pays for tuition and living expenses and is given on the basis of academic excellence and promise. Students must be admitted to a full-time Master’s degree at Lund University and inhabitants of a country outside of the European Union (EU) or European Economic Area to be eligible for the Lund University Global Scholarship (EEA).

In addition to financial aid, winners of the Lund University Global Scholarship have access to a variety of academic and personal support services, such as help transitioning to life in Sweden and finding housing. Scholarship Benefits:

  • Each year, around SEK 18 million (€1.7 million / US $1.8 million) in scholarship scholarships are distributed.
  • A merit-based grant to recognize outstanding academic students from outside the EU/EEA.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • You must be a citizen of a nation other than the EU/EEA (and Switzerland) and pay tuition fees.
  • You have submitted a comprehensive application to Lund University for Bachelor’s or Master’s level studies leading to a degree in a normal application cycle. It is important to note that the Lund University program for which you are asking for a scholarship should be your first option in your application at universityadmissions.se.

Application Procedure:

To be eligible to apply for and be considered for a Lund University Global Scholarship, you must first have applied to the program(s) at Lund University in which you desire to study. During the application season, you do this using the online, national application website – www.universityadmissions.se. You will be eligible to apply for the scholarship once you have submitted a comprehensive application to studies leading to a degree and paid the application fee. It is important to note that the scholarship site is not the same as the national application portal for studies. During the scholarship application season, this web page will have a link to the scholarship application site.

(*If you apply to a Fine Art or Music school, or if you apply in the later application round, March-April, you will be informed by email about when and how to apply for the scholarship.)

You must post your personal scholarship motivation letter’ (maximum 600 words) via the scholarship application site as part of the online scholarship application. Please keep in mind that the scholarship motivation letter is not the same as any statement of purpose that you may be asked to provide as part of your program-specific application paperwork. Your scholarship motivation letter should describe why your academic achievements and reasons for applying to Lund University qualify you for a Lund University Global Scholarship. You can only apply for one Lund University Global Scholarship each application round for the programs you have chosen at Lund University. You may, however, apply for additional scholarships, such as the Swedish Institute scholarships, in addition.

  • Please do not apply if you do not fulfill Lund University’s entrance standards. You did not choose a Lund University program/course as your first/first option at universityadmissions.se. You are unable to obtain the funds necessary from the Swedish Migration Agency to meet living expenses.
