Duration of the Hubei Government Scholarship:

  • Applicants for Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral Degrees in Chinese universities and colleges in the Beijing region: scholarship term should be less than four years.
  • Applicants for Chinese language training or relevant advanced courses in Chinese universities and colleges in the Beijing region: the scholarship term should be less than one year.
  • Scholars and overseas students for specialized training in Chinese universities and colleges in the Beijing region: scholarship term should be less than one year.
  • Exchange students or students who have made remarkable contributions to international education in Beijing: the scholarship should be for less than a year

Benefits:

  • The annual undergraduate scholarship is $10,000.
  • The Graduate Scholarship is worth 15,000 RMB every year.
  • The annual doctorate scholarship is 20,000 RMB.
  • The General Scholar Scholarship is worth 5,000 RMB each six months or 10,000 RMB per year.
  • The Advanced Scholar Scholarship (including visiting scholars, as defined below) is $10,000 each six-month period or 20,000 per year.

Criteria for Qualifying:

  • Language Requirements: Language competence requirements for applicants are established by the academic programs and the specific higher learning institution.
  • Except for Chinese people, all countries in the world are eligible.
  • Applicants must be foreign residents with valid passports who are amicable with China.
  • Applicants must be well-behaved, diligent, have a strong academic record, and be in good health.
  • Undergraduate scholarship candidates must be between the ages of 25 and hold a degree equivalent to a Chinese high school diploma or above.
  • Graduate Scholarship candidates must be under 30 years old and hold a bachelor’s degree.
  • Doctorate Scholarship candidates must be between the ages of 35 and 35 and hold a master’s degree.

  • All General Scholar Scholarship candidates must be under the age of 40, and Chinese language scholars must have a Higher School Diploma or higher. Professional scholars must have a bachelor’s degree or above, or be university students in grade 2 or higher.
