The Australian Institute of Nuclear Science and Engineering (AINSE Ltd.) is an integral organisation for enhancing Australia’s and New Zealand’s capabilities in nuclear science, engineering, and related research fields by facilitating world-class research and education. 

AINSE offers a range of programs and services to its members, including generous domestic and international conference support, scholarships for honours & postgraduate students and Early Career Researchers, and intensive undergraduate education schools. These benefits aim to foster scientific advancement and promote an effective collaboration between AINSE members and ANSTO.

Benefits

The AINSE Postgraduate Research Award (PGRA) consists of a A$8,250 per annum stipend given to students studying their PhD at an AINSE Member University. The Award also provides travel and accommodation support for students to present at conferences, undertake field work or travel to ANSTO facilities.

Eligibility

To be eligible for Partially Funded AINSE Postgraduate Research Award, eligible applicants will be enrolled in a postgraduate research degree at an AINSE Member University and receiving an RTP scholarship or equivalent.

The research project must require the use of ANSTO’s facilities and expertise.

To apply for the AINSE Postgraduate Research Award Scholarship, contact your AINSE Councillor and establish a connection with anappropriate ANSTO co-supervisor on the instrument you will be using for your research. You must complete the application form using our online application portal prior to the application deadline.
